Bye Buddy reminded me of the sorrow that awaits every dog owner. It is a tragic piece that depicts the end of an era with the loss of a dog and the starting of college. In some of the scenes the writing packed a punch. The bedroom scene where Buddy doesn’t want his toy left me in tears, and the way his deterioration was shown through his toy was very effective. I do feel the acting wasn’t as good as it could have been in such an emotional piece and some of the characters like the mother seemed a little bit cold and under-developed,
This let the film down a little, though it is still a great piece if you want to cry.
